Every morning men across the globe face the blade. Not the vampire guy! I was thinking more along the lines of a Mach 3 or Schick Tracer. These are a couple contemporary tools of the trade. Many of us prefer their closeness over that of an electric model. I have to say that I’m one of them. I did the electric thing for a couple years in the beginning, but definitely prefer the blade now. It shaves closer and cleaner if you ask me. Certainly there are plenty of these to choose from. As long as you don’t go with the disposables, you’re probably fine. Now, what do you find troubling or irksome about this daily ritual? Wait; let me take a wild guess. You get nicks, cuts, razor bumps, ingrown hairs and/or razor burn? I think that pretty much covered it all. Yep, those are the typical pangs of shaving.
No man has to accept the foul and painful aftermath of shaving with a blade. Not anymore at least. There are too many great products on the market now days, and I’m going to let you in on some. I don’t care if you’re grappling with razor bumps or razor burn; there is something out there for you. First, let’s address razor bumps and ingrown hairs. These are the worst in my book. If you get them regularly, you should really do something to prevent them. Tend Skin is a great product for dealing with these unsightly burdens. A few other companies like Anthony Logistics and Baxter of California also offer treatments for this dilemma. Give one a shot and see what you think. Then there is razor burn. This is fairly easy to deal with. You want to make sure you have a sharp razor and a good shaving cream, gel, or foam. Don’t buy the Colgate garbage and don’t use a blade more than 5 times. They get dull. If you can afford it, I would only then three times each. These will make a great difference in your shave. Try it in the shower and the whiskers will be much softer. This will prevent razor burn. And lastly, it comes down to your aftershave. Avoid alcohol! This does nothing to aid razor burn issues. It only makes things worse.
Try an aftershave that’s rich in moisturizers. A couple I strongly suggest are Baxter of California’s aftershave balm, and Kid Glove’s aftershave gel. These are ideal for banishing any signs of razor burn. Use them only once, and you’ll never go back to the drugstore stuff.
